Young Men’s Choir of Randaberg, in collaboration with Randaberg Historical Society and the Restauration Friends Association, invites you to a grand concert – together with Rita Eriksen and Mari Hauge.
The concert focuses on the emigration of 1825 and migration in our time, with this theme woven throughout the songs and storytelling.

More about the concert and the artists
In 2025, the first organized emigration to America will be commemorated. The ship Restauration departed Stavanger on July 4, 1825, with over 50 people on board. Restauration 2 – the replica of the original ship – will make a commemorative voyage, departing on July 4, 2025.
Young Men’s Choir of Randaberg has been invited to New York in October 2025 to participate in the arrival of the ship Restauration after three months at sea.
Rita Eriksen and Mari Hauge are also involved in the same project.
Through this concert, the artists will use words and music to raise awareness of an important theme and a central part of our local and national history. The concert will feature a full band, and the artists will perform a rich program of ballads, hymns, and spirituals both individually and together.
Young Men’s Choir of Randaberg was founded in 2017 and builds upon the proud male choir tradition in Randaberg. The choir, both alone and together with Randaberg Male Choir, has been a solid contributor to church and cultural life locally in recent years.
Rita Eriksen (FB) has left a significant mark on Norwegian music for the past forty years as an artist and actress. In 2012, she won the music competition Stjernekamp on NRK. She will be joined by the excellent musician Dag Sindre Vagle on guitar/vocals/flutes, who will elevate the program as a musician throughout the concert.
Mari Hauge is the granddaughter of Alfred Hauge, who wrote the famous emigration trilogy about “the father of Norwegian emigration” Cleng Peerson. (See under «Litteratur» on our website.) She is currently working on an album inspired by these books, which serve as the backdrop for her storytelling, and she will present some of this material during the concert.
